Webinar recording: air source and ground source heat pumps

A guide to using heat pumps as a low-carbon home heating system

This is an archived post featuring a recording of one of our past webinars. While some of the funding information is now out of date, the session still offers a useful introduction to heat pumps and how they work in real homes.

This webinar, recorded in autumn 2020 as part of our fortnightly online retrofit series, explores one of the most popular energy efficiency upgrades: heat pumps.

Led by Retrofit Coordinator Natasha Ginks, the session explains how air source and ground source heat pumps work, how they’re installed, and the types of homes they’re suitable for. Natasha also discusses the funding support available at the time, including the Renewable Heat Incentive and Green Homes Grant, which have since closed.

We also hear from Tim Lunel, a Cosy Homes client from Hook Norton, who shares his experience of replacing an oil boiler with an air source heat pump – including how it was installed and the difference it’s made to the comfort of his home.
