Figures reveal poor EPC ratings for South Oxfordshire homes
17 February 2022
Figures collected by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show 56% of homes in South Oxfordshire had an EPC rating of Band D or lower in 2020-21.
Despite the pressure of an energy crisis, many homes in the region are losing heat through their fabric meaning residents have to spend more on energy bills.
The figures show the median annual cost of energy bills in South Oxfordshire was an estimated £765 in 2020-21 – above the average in England of £731.
“As well as the need for immediate action and short-term support, the current crisis emphasises the importance of improving the energy efficiency of the UK’s housing stock in the long-term.”
