Smarter planning for a better home
Helping you take the right steps to make your home warmer and greener – with expert guidance so you can plan well, avoid mistakes, and get it done properly
We’ve refreshed something at the heart of what we do – and it’s already making a real difference for homeowners across Oxfordshire.
Whether you’re looking at insulation, a heat pump, or a full home upgrade, our new Whole House Plan gives you the clarity and confidence to take the next step. It’s more tailored, more practical, and more powerful than ever – shaped by the people we work with every day.
“We wanted to make it easier for homeowners to see not just what they could do, but why it matters and how it fits together. This new tailored plan makes the whole retrofit journey clearer and more personal – and we’ve already seen it helping people move from thinking to doing.”
Natasha, Retrofit Coordinator, Cosy Homes Oxfordshire
Why we’ve made the change
Our Whole House Plan has never been a box-ticking exercise. But now, it’s even more bespoke – designed to help you understand what’s right for your home, your goals, and your life.
It starts with a simple chat. We’ll ask a few basic questions about your home and explain how the service works, so you can decide if a Whole House Plan is right for you.
If you decide to go ahead, a qualified Retrofit Assessor will visit to carry out a full home assessment – including a 3D virtual tour – so we can see how your home works, and where it could work better.
Then one of our Retrofit Coordinators will talk it all through with you: What are your priorities? What’s your budget, your timeline, your appetite for disruption?
From there, we’ll create your Whole House Plan – a clear, tailored roadmap. You’ll see in plain English what each upgrade could mean, where it fits, what it’s likely to cost, and how it could improve comfort, energy use, and peace of mind.
We also help you avoid common pitfalls – like condensation, overheating, or wasted investment – by making sure everything works as a whole. That’s what taking a whole house approach really means: smarter decisions, better outcomes, and no regrets.
A smarter plan, for a smarter home
Whatever’s motivating your retrofit – reducing emissions, upgrading comfort, or making your home work better with smart tech – our new plan is designed to meet you where you are.
It combines practical insight with clear, data-backed guidance. For each recommended measure, you’ll see what it involves, where in your home it applies, what level of disruption to expect, and a realistic cost range based on completed retrofit projects across Oxfordshire.
It’s not about telling you what to do – it’s about helping you make confident decisions, with a plan that reflects your values, your lifestyle, and your home.
These estimates aren’t plucked from thin air. Behind the scenes, our colleague Geordie has developed a pricing tool unique to Cosy Homes Oxfordshire. It draws on real measurements from your home, plus historic costs from local contractors using sustainable materials – so the figures in your plan are grounded, not generic. That means fewer surprises later, and a far better chance of seeing your project through without scaling back your ambitions.
“We wanted the numbers in your plan to feel useful, not confusing. By basing them on real contractor costs here in Oxfordshire – and tailoring them to your home’s actual dimensions – we’re helping you to budget with confidence and avoid unpleasant surprises later on.”
Geordie, Cosy Homes Oxfordshire Scheme Manager
Real homes, real impact
We’re proud of our updated Whole House Plan – and even prouder of the Oxfordshire homeowners who have been using it to cut their carbon emissions, improve comfort, and make their homes work better for the long term.

“Working from home and being here most of the day, I’d got used to it being really cold, but now it’s just a constant pleasant temperature.”
What next?
A plan is only the first step. We are here to help you take it further – from detailed design work to finding vetted contractors, and coordinating the project from start to finish.
Your dedicated coordinator stays involved throughout, checking quality, solving problems, and keeping everything on track so the work is done properly.
