UK must do more to insulate draughty homes, says head of Climate Change Committee

The UK must do more to insulate the country’s draughty homes, says Britain’s climate change chief.
Government policy on insulation is “very poor” and better policy is the solution to the energy crisis, says Chris Stark, head of the UK’s Climate Change Committee, speaking to the BBC.
Although Britain has some of the oldest and least energy efficient housing in Europe, the panel says the Government is not doing enough to fund the costly work – such as retrofitting and adding insulation to existing homes.
The government needs to provide “a sharper incentive for most people to make these investments in improving the energy efficiency of the home that they live in,” he told BBC News.
“[We need] a sharper incentive for most people to make these investments in improving the energy efficiency of the home that they live in.”
